Through my art and storytelling, I express a deep love for nature and its awe-inspiring beauty. Rooted in the traditions of Western art, my work captures the spirit of horses, cattle, and the landscapes they call home—creating soulful, symbolic pieces that explore peace, connection, presence, and spirit.

Lisa Faulkenberry is a contemporary artist based in Bakersfield, California, whose work explores connection, presence, and the quiet dialogue between beings and the natural world.
Rooted in her lifelong connection to horses, Western culture, and ranch life, Lisa’s work began as a deeply personal exploration of the emotional and spiritual bond between horse and human. Today, that exploration continues to evolve beyond the equine subject into expressive landscapes, animals, human figures, and atmospheric imagery.
Working in oil, acrylic, graphite, and mixed media, Lisa combines contemporary, painterly, and atmospheric approaches to create works that move between representation and abstraction. Light, water, movement, reflection, and atmosphere often become visual languages for emotion and experience.
The horse remains the central thread throughout her work, while her exploration extends into other animals, landscapes, the human figure, and the natural world. These subjects provide opportunities to explore broader themes of connection, harmony, light, and the inner landscape of experience.
Whether portraying a horse, a figure, an animal, or a quiet landscape, each painting begins with a story, experience, or moment of connection. Lisa invites the viewer to pause, feel, and discover something beyond the visible—the energy, emotion, and unspoken relationships that exist between beings and the world around them.
