As an equine artist, I strive to capture more than the physical beauty of horses—I aim to express their spirit, power, and subtle emotional depth. Horses have been companions in my world, and through my art, I explore the silent language they share with us: one of trust, grace, and movement.
Horses are central to my work, not just as physical beings, but as symbols of freedom, trust, and resilience. In each painting, I aim to capture the character and soul of these animals, as well as the people who share their lives with them.
My current series, Women With Horses, is a personal tribute to the empowering bond between women and horses. It reflects stories of strength, intuition, and partnership—connections that are often unspoken but deeply felt.
Working primarily in acrylic, oil, and mixed media, I allow the materials to guide the process, embracing spontaneity and texture to enhance the emotion of each piece. Every canvas is a conversation between memory, experience, and imagination—shaped by my life on a small horse ranch in the foothills of Bakersfield, California. Lisa Faulkenberry
