Inspired by the hues of turquoise and the raw power of the waves, this seascape contrasts a vivid sea against a moody, ominous sky. 1ft by 3ft gallery wrapped canvas
This series celebrates the empowering bond between women and these magnificent animals—an intimate connection that embodies trust, strength, grace, and freedom. Ultimately, my goal is to honor the enduring bond between horses and humans, and to reflect the timeless beauty they bring into our lives.

This is my first painting combining a person, and horse in a landscape setting 🎨 those that know me personally most likely expected a cow horse or cutter first however my first experience with horses was English Pleasure while growing up on the East Coast. So about 15 years ago when my friend Angie thought my two paint mares would do well in dressage I was excited. Angie trained both young mares and showed them beautifully in Tehachapi.

To me, horsewomen share a deep bond-with each other and their horses. This painting honors Silvio, a heart horse lost in 2024. I created it for his owner, and dear friend, hoping to capture his expressive spirit. Though gone, his heart still lives on in her and in this piece.

Every cowgirl needs a little serenity.
Have you ever had the experience of being in the presence of a horse and feeling an intense sense of serenity wash over you, compelling you to lean into them as all else fades away? Have you ever had the experience of being in the presence of a horse and feeling an intense sense of serenity wash over you, compelling you to lean into them as all else fades away? It brings to mind a quote often attributed to Winston Churchill. "There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man". I feel this every time I’m with my horses and in fact many years ago while suffering from grief it was a horse that convinced me to start living again. Acrylic 22x28 canvas framed.

Aww… that powerful sliding stop of a reined cow horse—a moment full of energy, trust, and connection after so much hard work and dedication. I carefully layering each detail to honor the heart of that perfect stop between a horse and cowgirl team. 🐴💛

Many of my paintings reflect the beauty I find close to home and the quiet drives where I soak up nature’s scenery. My hope is that these scenes bring you the same calm they bring me. 💛💛

With a soulful gaze and a quiet strength, this palomino companion holds an arched pose that feels both vulnerable and powerful. Look At Me invites you into a moment of deep presence. This golden companion isn’t just seen—he’s felt. Rich textures throughout the canvas add depth and dimension, symbolizing the layered spirit of the horse: noble, elegant, and quietly powerful. I poured my heart into this one. And I hope you feel it, too!

One of my favorite methods of painting is with a palette Knife. It can be freeing to take a blank canvas and start designing a vision. This method creates texture, movement and the best imperfections!!

Ever since that time I’ve been intrigued.

My work is guided by the emotional energy of color and the layered rhythms of mark-making. This evolving body of work unfolds as a visual diary—an exploration of the subconscious, the sacred, and the unseen forces that shape our lives. It also reveals a more introspective and intuitive side of my creative journey.
“There’s a quiet magic in the in-between—between seen and unseen, reality and dream. That’s where I like to paint.” ~Lisa Faulkenberry
✨ THE SKY HOLDS MORE THAN STARS ✨
This evolving body of work reveals an introspective and intuitive side of my creative journey. Through abstract and surrealistic paintings, I explore symbolic landscapes, spiritual portals, and dreamlike terrains that reflect the mysteries of memory, emotion, and perception. Recurring motifs—moons, water, and fragmented structures—serve as visual anchors, guiding both myself and the viewer into an inner world beyond the literal.
Reflected Realms unfolds as a series of dreamlike worlds under triple moons, where celestial bodies echo in water and light shimmers on surreal skylines. Each painting captures a sense of suspended time—portals to places both distant and familiar. These are not merely landscapes but emotional terrains, where reflections blur the boundaries between sky and earth, thought and feeling, the known and the unknown.
🌙 The sky holds more than stars ✨ —it holds memory, mystery, and the quiet pull of other dimensions. Through this series, I invite you to step into stillness, into wonder, and into realms where imagination leads. ~Lisa Faulkenberry

DANCE THROUGH REFLECTION, JOY, & GRACE🩰
A Story of Movement and Becoming
This series honors the many rhythms of life’s journey—quiet beginnings, bold leaps, and the moments when balance is finally found. Through the graceful energy and symbolism of dancers, the work explores themes of strength, transformation, and resilience.
Each figure becomes a metaphor for the act of becoming: reaching beyond limits, embracing imperfection, and moving with intention through life’s ever-changing choreography. The paintings celebrate both stillness and motion—the pauses that shape us, the leaps that define us, and the balance that sustains us. Ultimately, this series invites viewers to reflect on their own evolving journeys—how we stretch, falter, rise, and discover a fluid grace within the dance of life.
